Keep The Balance Of Cardio And Weight Training

 

 

Cardio and weight training should go together in women exercises. Why?

Cardio and aerobics classes are very dynamic exercises and full of fun. Women love to join more than one cardio class, especially when they can do it together with their girl friends, or when the instructor is cool. That is very good! Having exercise with friends can increase your motivation. However, you should not put only cardio exercise in your exercise plan, do both cardio and weight training for better result.
 

Cardio exercise can burn fat and calories. Yes, that’s true, however excessive cardio can cause your stamina goes weaker and your metabolism decreases. You can say that you had an excessive cardio when you join 4 or more aerobics classes a week, even if each class takes only 40 minutes.


 

At my gym, I know a woman who likes to join 2 aerobics classes in a row, and she goes to the gym every day except Sundays. If you think she can lose her weight faster than anyone else, you are wrong! She seems to keep her weight (which is overweight) as long as I know her…and that’s because she don’t do cardio and weight training.

Bear in your mind, more cardio doesn’t mean losing weight faster! If you want to have a good result, combine cardio and weight training all together 2 or 3 times a week. Weight training use your muscles, and muscles are the only part of your body which use fat as energy. In other word, muscles work by burning fat. In a way, weight training will make your muscles tone, and in other way, the exercise will force your muscles to use the extra fat in your body for energy.

The problem is, muscle mass will decrease when you grow older. That’s why, the older you are, the more difficult for you to keep your weight. Fat is the most enemy for mature women. That’s because when your muscles decrease, its ability to burn fat will also decrease. You might have the same fat intake in your diet for years, but one day you suddenly realize that you stored fat more than ever. Now you know why you should keep the balance of cardio and weight training in your exercises.

That condition could be worse when you have an excessive and unhealthy diet. Lack of protein will make your muscles loss faster, as well as your fat gain.

So, always remember to keep your balance of cardio and weight training to maintain your muscles mass, and to keep your weight and body shape even when you grow older.
